Accounting Services

The Financial Services office provides dedicated accountants to assist departments with accounting for common transactions.

• Intercompany Accounting: The Sr. Intercompany Accountant advises departments on appropriate internal billing and funding transfer transactions, records transactions in Ignite, and assists with reconciliation of activity.

•  Labor Distribution Accounting: The Labor Distribution (LD) Accounting team works with assigned client groups to identify LD entries that are needed for new employees, assignments or ICPs, proactively identify changes needed based on LD end dates, and advise on aligning LD with faculty, staff, and student effort allocation. The team is responsible for all LD data entry in Ignite and verifying the accuracy of payroll costing results.

• Revenue Accounting: The Revenue Accounting team works with assigned client groups to advise on best practices for revenue-generating activities, such as on-campus events, conferences, and the sale of products. Revenue accountants assist with identifying appropriate payment platforms, sales tax collection, potential unrelated business income issues, and chart of accounts for recording transactions. The team is responsible for recording all miscellaneous receipts and accounts receivable transactions in Ignite.
